  1. White Flour – 2 cups
  2. Aloo (Potato) – 4 of large size
  3. Onion – 2 of medium size
  4. Ginger – 1 inch long (20 gm approximately)
  5. Green Chilli -1
  6. Salt – 1/4th teaspoon
  7. Cumin powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  8. Coriander powder – 1 teaspoon
  9. Cumin seeds – 1/4th teaspoon
  10. Coriander leaves – 20 to 25 grams approximately
  11. Dried Mango Powder (Amchoor Powder) – ½ teaspoon
  12. Ghee/Edible oil/Butter – 1/4th cup
  13. Water – 3 cups

How To Make Aloo Paratha

  • Put a cooker on a medium flame burner. Add 3 cups of normal water in it. Cut potatoes vertically from its center, to create two equal parts and put them in the water inside the cooker and boil them for making Aloo Paratha.
  • Wait till 6 to 7 whistles come from the cooker, following which switch off the burner and allow the cooker to cool down at room temperature.
  • Once the cooker is cooled, take out the potatoes and peel off the outer layer. Next, mash them keeping on a plate and keep it aside.
  • Now peel off the onions and cut it into very fine small pieces and transfer these to the plate where the potato has been kept.
  • In the same way, cut the green chili into very fine pieces and grate the ginger by a grater. Transfer all the contents into the plate where the potato is kept. Then in the same mixture add salt, cumin powder, coriander powder, Amchoor powder (Dried mango powder) altogether, along with very finely chopped coriander leaves.

  • Mash the contents properly and then mix them thoroughly. Now put a non-stick pan on a low medium flame burner. Add 1 teaspoon edible oil in it and allow it to get warmed. Once it gets hot then add cumin seeds in it and stir it a little bit, until its color starts to change. Then add the Aloo (potato) mixture in it and fry it for 3 to 4 minutes. However, keep on stirring the contents continuously.
  • After 3 to 4 minutes the burner is switched off and then transfer the fried Aloo mixture to a plate. Next, add white flour slowly to it and keep on mashing the contents and mixing it, till it becomes a hard dough like the one used to make chapati.

  • Next, divide the main dough into many balls like that used to prepare chapati.

  • Now, take these small balls containing Aloo, Flour & other mixture and roll them by rolling pin to turn them into a chapati like shape.
  • Put a non – stick tawa on a medium flame burner and fry the previously prepared uncooked parathas from both sides and put ghee/oil/butter (in amounts mentioned previously) on both sides of it.

  • In the same way, all the pieces can be fried.
