How to Make Vanilla Muffin

  1. All-purpose flour – 1 cup
  2. Sugar – 1/4th cup or as per personal taste requirement
  3. Baking Powder – 3/4th teaspoon
  4. Baking soda – ½ teaspoon
  5. Milk – ½ cup
  6. Unsalted Butter (Melted & Cooled)/ Vegetable Oil – 1/4th cup (here we have used vegetable oil)
  7. Eggs – 2 (Large size)
  8. Vanilla essence – ½ teaspoon
  9. Salt – a small pinch

How to Make Muffins at Home (Vanilla Flavour)

  • Break the shell of eggs & store the contents in a bowl. If butter is used then, melt it first & then cool it at room temperature. However, if Vegetable Oil is used, no extra step is required.
  • Next mix the previously mentioned amount of Butter/Vegetable oil with the egg. Add sugar & salt to this mixture.

  • Now beat the mixture carefully. Add milk to the mixture & again beat it nicely. Now keep the contents aside.

  • In another bowl, take flour in the previously mentioned amounts & to it mix baking powder + baking soda. Sieve the mixture properly, to ensure that no lump remains in the mixture.

  • Now mix the previously prepared egg mixture into this flour mixture, gradually and in small amounts.

  • The contents are folded together, from both sides. Here it would be important to mention that folding in cooking, implies mixing ingredients gently without beating, stirring, or agitating the mixture.

  • The batter should become smooth. For this purpose, some extra milk can be added to the preparation, if the requirement arises.
  • Lastly, add Vanilla essence (1/2 teaspoon) to the contents and fold the batter once more, as previously described. The batter is now ready for the next step in the Recipe of Muffin – which is baking of the preparation.

  • For baking purposes – first grease the molds to be used in the Recipe for Muffin preparation & put the batter into the molds (only 3/4th part of the mold should be filled). Transfer these molds to a preheated oven, which is already set at 180-degree Fahrenheit. Bake the contents for 20 to 25 minutes.

  • To check if the Muffin preparation is ready or not, switch off the oven & remove the lid. Then insert a fine needle into the Muffin preparation and take it out. If the needle comes out dry that means the Muffins are ready now. However, if the material adheres to the needle, then further bake the preparation for another 3 to 4 minutes and check it once again.   • Take out the Muffin from the oven and allow it to cool at room temperature. Later it can be served to your friends or family members.

Recipe of Chocolate Muffin

  • How to make Muffin chocolate type is again a question that is very frequently asked. Hence here we will be describing the Recipe of Chocolate Muffin in brief.
  • The ingredients used in the Recipe of Chocolate Muffin are mostly the same as in the procedure described above in how to make Vanilla Muffin & share many similar steps described above. However, one important difference that is noted in Recipe of Chocolate Muffin, is that egg is not used in the preparation. Instead of using egg for the preparation, here, 1 tablespoon non-sour curd is added to the bowl containing a mixture of vegetable oil + milk + salt + sugar and beaten uniformly to mix the components.
  • The next step in the Recipe of Chocolate Muffin involves adding 1 teaspoon coffee powder to 1/4th cup hot water & mixing them uniformly. Next, this is added to the liquid mixture described above, and the mixture is beaten to mix the components uniformly.
  • Next 2 tablespoons of good quality cocoa powder are added to the flour mixture (containing flour + baking powder + baking soda). Then like as described in the procedure of how to make vanilla Muffin; the liquid mixture (described above) is added to the flour mixture & the preparation is folded from both sides, as described previously, till a smooth batter is obtained.
  • Now we prepare ourselves for the next step of the Recipe of Chocolate Muffin, which is baking the preparation. For this - the molds are greased as before, batter contents transferred to fill 3/4th of mold volume.
  • Chocolate chips can be spread over the upper portion of the batter present in the molds (optional step). Now the molds are transferred to a preheated oven at 180-degree Fahrenheit & baking is done for 20 to 25 minutes as before.
  • After the mentioned period the molds are brought out of the oven & the completion of baking is tested as before by inserting a needle & repeating the baking procedure if it is not yet complete. Once the preparation is baked completely, the now prepared Chocolate muffin can be served to your friends or family members.

Finer Tips in Recipe of Muffins Preparation

  • The batter used in the Recipe of Muffin should be smooth and no beating should be done. As described above for mixing, only folding of the batter from both sides of the pan should be done.
  • In case if the egg is not used then in the place of the egg, add 1 tablespoon non-sour curd or half cup buttermilk; with 1 cup flour. All other ingredients remain the same as used in the Recipe for Muffin with eggs.
  • The final batter (after mixing of the ingredients is complete) should be kept aside for 5 minutes before being poured into molds for insertion into the oven.
